I used to feel like I was drowning in stuff. My apartment was always messy, laundry was an all day event, I had a hard time finding a spot for everything, and yet I still wanted more. One day I had enough and I started to get rid of things bit by bit. When I had a baby, I got rid of even more stuff. Now, I spend hardly any time cleaning, I wash one load of my clothes every week or two and I have way more time to spend with my family, doing the things that matter.
